It’s not a dream

Normalize what you want

Have you ever seen this really cool thing,

Whether it be a car, a house, or a job,

You see it and you look up to it,

And you say:

“That's my dream ___”

Why is it your dream thing?

It’s because you want it.

If you say “that's my dream thing”,

You’re essentially saying that “it’s a big thing”,

It’s hard to get,

Hard things take time and effort,

and our brains don’t like effort,

We try to avoid it at all costs.

We are biologically trained to take the easiest route,

even if that means we won’t get the best results,

So your dream,

might just stay a dream.

If it’s a dream,

it feels hard to obtain.

It feels like you’ll never get it.

So image yourself having it,

even better,

try feeling what its like to have it,

like hanging around with people who have it.

Let’s say you have a “dream car”,

know what it looks like,

know how it’s priced,

learn about it,

if you get the chance, test drive it,

try to get closer to it.

Let’s say you have a “dream job”,

know what it’s like to work there,

know what the job is like,

do stuff related to the work you would do there,

identify yourself like you have the job already,

That way, it doesn’t seem so far.

Here’s my own example:

My “dream job” is becoming a data scientist (for now),

so I learned skills that a data scientist would have,

I did things that a data scientist would do,

I feel like one,

When I see the word data scientist I think,

“Hey, that's me”,

It might sound a bit delusional,

but just try.

That dream thing,

Have your mind think it’s yours.

Own it energetically before physically.
